Please find below our net returns for May 2024.
Our strategies did not trade the first week of May as our servers would not allow new trades to open. It did not impact the current trades open but any new trades the bots wanted to open, it could not occur.
It was discovered the issue was the Windows server updates did not install properly so they had to be re installed. Soon as this occurred, everything went back to normal.
Due to the above our strategies missed the chance to trade on the larger news events that occurred in the first week.
Detailed below are some further changes that have taken place.
On Quobba SR and Quobba HR we have removed one of the bots from trading ANZNZD. The returns for the risk were out of proportion and it was the cause of larger drawdowns occurring.
The decision was made to stop trading on Coral Bay SR. We have been running this strategy since June 2020, so it was a big decision. Since the start of this year the returns have been small, and it required one of our larger minimum investments to start trading with.
The capital has been moved to start new strategies which includes Karijini HR.
We will also have been looking at some of other strategies to see if other changes are required. For example, we are monitoring one of our bots to track how it handles the current market. If the decision is made that the return vs risk is not within our parameters, we will look to turn the bot off.
Finally, we are in the process of setting up either one or two new very high-risk strategies that will target over 80% gross returns a year. This is the kind of strategy that will be bound to have large draw downs and higher probability of the account losing all its capital. To build these strategies we are using all the data from our current strategies to test the modelling to see if can be achieved. But as always, it is the unknowns that come from left field that cause the largest impact. Any investors thinking of following need to understand this is very high risk. From our side, we understand the risk of capital loss and whilst we do not want this to occur – the risk vs return allows us to push forward.
The first of these has been setup and now active and is called Grampians VHR (Very High Risk). All details can be found on our website and uses the strategy of Grampians SR but with some modifications and further currency pairs. The second we are reviewing is the GBR strategy. We currently only have a HR for this strategy, but we are looking building a VHR. But we may also cross it with some other parts of other strategies.
